Seaton is a seaside town located on Britain’s Jurassic Coast and this medieval design labyrinth was commissioned to allow Seaton’s residents and visitors to ’walk through time’. Constructed as a public garden project the 60ft diameter spiral was paved using different types of locally quarried stone, with giant fossils incorporated into the finished attraction.

Our clients for this project had already begun work on construction of the swimming pool and walled garden when they commissioned Penny Pritchard to produce a garden design. The client brief was to design and produce a Tuscan style walled garden and Tony Benger Landscaping was awarded the landscaping contract including paving, pergola and planting.

The paving was sealed and pointed with a white grouting mix to produce a fine finish. Old style brick and green oak were used to construct the corner pergola and reclaimed French terracotta tiles laid beneath.
